  • Solid 5% M35 Cobalt Core (67 HRC) —
  • Self-Piloting Stepped Nose — Bores 1/4" steel plate
  • Zero-Skate 135° Split Point — Locks onto curved
  • 13 True SAE Sizes (1/16" – 1/4") —

Features

1. Locks In Instantly With Zero Center Punch

1. Locks In Instantly With Zero Center Punch

Touch the 135-degree split-point tip directly onto flat plate, snapped studs, or round steel tubing at low RPM. It bites on the first turn with 0.0 mm lateral skating.

2. Stepped Shoulders Widen the Bore in Stages

2. Stepped Shoulders Widen the Bore in Stages

Instead of jamming the full width of a 1/4-inch bit into solid steel at once, progressive stepped rings shear controlled layers—cutting downward arm pressure by 48%.

3. Parabolic Flutes Eject Cool Silver Ribbons

3. Parabolic Flutes Eject Cool Silver Ribbons

Deep-ground flutes pull twin continuous metal curls out of the hole while 5% M35 cobalt stays razor-sharp at 1,100°F, leaving a clean, burr-free exit.

  • 1,100°F Red-Hardness Ceiling

Maintains sharp cutting corners under sustained stainless-steel friction where standard HSS bits soften and mushroom at 600°F.

  • Progressive Stepped Pilot Nose

CNC-ground cutting shoulders on bits 1/8" and up bore a narrow pilot hole and step it to full diameter in one smooth downward pass.

  • True 5% Solid M35 Cobalt Alloy

No microscopic gold Titanium wash to rub off. Homogeneous 67 HRC cobalt alloy runs straight through the steel core and survives 1,100°F heat.

  • Zero-Walk 135° Split Point

Self-centering chisel geometry bites curved exhaust tubing, rounded bolt heads, and angled brackets on the very first revolution.

  • 3-Flat Anti-Slip Torque Shanks

Precision-milled flats on high-load sizes lock into keyless cordless chucks so the bit never spins when breaking through thick plate.

How to use it

  1. Chuck Up & Shift to Low Gear
    1

Chuck Up & Shift to Low Gear

Lock the 3-flat shank into your drill chuck and click your top speed switch to Gear 1 (600–900 RPM) for maximum torque and cool cutting.

  2. Add a Drop of Oil & Touch Down
    2

Add a Drop of Oil & Touch Down

Place a drop of oil on stainless or thick alloy and set the 135° split tip right on your mark—no center punch or starter bit needed.

  3. Press Steadily for Silver Curls
    3

    Press Steadily for Silver Curls

Apply smooth, even pressure as the stepped shoulders widen the hole in one pass, pulling out thick silver ribbons and leaving a clean exit.

In the box

  • 1 × Cosari 13-Piece M35 5% Cobalt Stepped Split-Point Drill Bit Set (1/16", 5/64", 3/32", 7/64", 1/8", 9/64", 5/32", 11/64", 3/16", 13/64", 7/32", 15/64", 1/4")
  • 1 × High-Impact Hinged Shop Index Case with Tilt-Out Fractional Size Racks
  • 1 × Printed Shop RPM & Metal Lubrication Quick-Reference Card

Care & safety

  • For stainless steel and hardened bolts, set your cordless drill to Gear 1 (Low Speed: 600–900 RPM) and apply steady downward pressure with a drop of cutting oil or 3-in-1 oil.
  • Keep the drill straight and perpendicular when using micro sizes (1/16"–3/32") to prevent lateral flex on rigid 67 HRC cobalt.

Questions

What exact sizes are included in the Cosari 13-piece set?

You get all 13 standard Imperial SAE fractional sizes in 1/64-inch increments: 1/16", 5/64", 3/32", 7/64", 1/8", 9/64", 5/32", 11/64", 3/16", 13/64", 7/32", 15/64", and 1/4". Each slot in the tilt-out index case is clearly marked for quick visual grab.

Are all 13 bits stepped, and which ones have 3-flat shanks?

Bits 1/8" and larger feature the multi-stepped split-point nose cone; the four micro sizes (1/16" through 7/64") use precision 135-degree split points because their narrow diameter already acts as a micro-pilot. Larger high-torque sizes include machined 3-flat shanks to prevent chuck spin, while micro bits use concentric round shanks.

Will these drill through Grade 8 bolts, cast iron, and 304 stainless steel?

Yes. Heat-treated to 67 HRC with a 1,100°F thermal ceiling, they are built specifically for hardened Grade 8 fasteners, 304/316 stainless steel, cast iron manifolds, spot welds, and structural steel—as well as aluminum, brass, hardwood, and thick PVC.
