Best Wireless Headphones in Australia 2026: We Compared the Specs of Six Popular Noise-Cancelling Models

By the Review & Rated Editorial Team · Last updated 30 September 2026

Illustration: the six wireless headphones in this guide side by side on a light grey background, with the OneOdio A Series in the middle

Good wireless headphones have to do three things well: block out the noise around you, last a long travel day on one charge, and sound clear on calls. All six pairs below list active noise cancelling. Where they differ is battery life, extras like spatial audio and multipoint, how you can listen wired, and price.

We compared six over-ear wireless headphones from OneOdio, Sony, Bose, Sennheiser, Apple and soundcore, using the specs and box contents each maker publishes and the prices on each maker's Australian online store (for OneOdio, our store listing). Listed battery with noise cancelling on runs from 20 hours to 60 hours, and prices from A$169.99 to A$999.

Short on time? Our #1 pick is the OneOdio A Series as the best-value all-rounder: hybrid noise cancelling, two devices at once over Bluetooth, and a cable mode that still plays when the battery is flat, for A$219. If you want the most noise-cancelling hardware, look at the Sony WH-1000XM6. For the longest battery, look at the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4. If you use an iPhone, look at AirPods Max 2. For the lowest price, look at the soundcore Space One (A$169.99).

How we rank products

The rankings, grades, ratings and score bars on this page are the editorial opinion of the Review & Rated team. They are based on manufacturer-published specifications collected in September 2026 and Australian prices checked on 30 September 2026, not on lab measurements.

Specs marked "listed" or "rated" are the manufacturer's own figures and have not been independently verified. Prices change often; check the seller's page for today's price.

Review & Rated is owned by the company that sells the OneOdio A Series through the Cosari Australia store (cosari-aus.com). That is why it appears first and why every button on this page links to it.

After comparing the specs side by side, here are the best wireless headphones in Australia for 2026.

Buy it if…

You want noise cancelling, multipoint and long battery without paying premium prices.

You fly or commute and want to keep listening over a cable when the battery runs out.

How it compares: Compared with #2 Sony WH-1000XM6: the Sony lists 12 noise-cancelling mics and a QN3 processor, but 5 fewer hours with ANC on (30 h vs 35 h) and costs A$360.95 more in Australia.

Details: specs, full analysis, all pros and cons

The OneOdio A Series earns our #1 spot as the best-value all-rounder: listed hybrid ANC, multipoint Bluetooth, a long listed battery and a wired mode for flights and flat batteries, at a fraction of the premium prices. With up to 45 hours of Bluetooth playback and an EVA case in the box, it is the pick if you want one pair for music, travel, commuting and calls. It sells for A$219 at the Cosari Australia store, which lists free tracked delivery in 2 to 10 working days.

The OneOdio A Series is our top pick because it covers the everyday list for about a third of the Bose's Australian price and well under half the Sony's: hybrid active noise cancelling (rated up to −35 dB), multipoint Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm wired mode. OneOdio says the ANC blocks up to 95% of low- and mid-frequency noise when you use it wirelessly. Wired, it connects with the included 3.5 mm cable, and the wired mode keeps working even when the battery is flat.

Battery life is listed at up to 45 hours on Bluetooth, 35 hours with ANC switched on, and a 15-minute USB-C top-up gives about 4 hours of playback. A full charge takes 2 hours.

Sound comes from dual 40 mm drivers in a dual sound chamber, which OneOdio describes as hi-res audio, with a listed 20 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response. Multipoint Bluetooth keeps it connected to two devices at once, so you can listen on a laptop and take a call from your phone without re-pairing.

Memory-foam cushions and rotating joints are listed for comfort on long listening sessions, and it comes with an EVA case in the box with a 3.5 mm cable and a USB-C cable. OneOdio lists a 5-mic HD call setup (wireless mode only). Transparency mode, on the ANC button, lets outside sound in when you need to hear an announcement.

It sells for A$219 at the Cosari Australia store (cosari-aus.com), which lists free standard shipping with tracking and 2 to 10 working days total delivery. Its refund policy offers 30-day returns but excludes sale items, and this pair is currently discounted (A$219, was A$292). Also considered

Popular headphones we looked at and left out, and why.

Sony WH-1000XM5. The previous Sony flagship. Sony now sells the WH-1000XM6, which it says uses a processor 7x faster than the XM5's, so we list the XM6.

Sennheiser MOMENTUM 5 Wireless. Sennheiser's page also points to a newer MOMENTUM 5 Wireless. We kept the MOMENTUM 4 for its listed 60-hour battery with ANC on.

JBL Tune 770NC. A popular budget pair, but JBL's US product page would not load for us, so we could not check its specs on the maker's own page and left it out.

Benefits of wireless headphones with ANC

One pair for music, travel, commuting and calls
Block out engines, traffic and office noise with active noise cancelling
Up to 45 h on Bluetooth (35 h with ANC on)
Stay connected to your laptop and phone at once with multipoint Bluetooth
Keep listening over a cable when the battery runs out
Guide

What to consider when choosing wireless headphones

Noise Cancelling
All six pairs here list active noise cancelling. Look at what the maker lists: hybrid or adaptive ANC, how many microphones it uses, and whether there is a transparency or aware mode for announcements.
Battery Life
Listed battery with noise cancelling on ranges from 20 hours (AirPods Max 2) to 60 hours (Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4). Check the figure with the features you will actually use, such as ANC or spatial audio.
Wired Listening
A cable is useful on planes and when the battery is flat. Check whether the pair plays over a 3.5 mm cable, USB-C or both, and whether the cable is in the box.
Multipoint
Multipoint Bluetooth keeps you connected to two devices, such as a laptop and a phone, at once. Not every maker lists it on the product page.
Weight & Travel
For long wear and travel, look at the listed weight, whether the ear cups fold, and whether a case or pouch is included.
Guide

What to avoid when choosing wireless headphones

No Listed Specs
Be wary of headphones that do not list battery life, driver size or weight. If a spec is missing, you cannot compare it.
Battery Figures Without Conditions
A battery figure with noise cancelling off can be much higher than with it on. Compare like with like.
No Returns or Warranty
Fit and sound are personal. Buy from a seller that lists a clear returns window and warranty.
Guide

How we compared these headphones

What we did, and what we did not do.

  1. We started with popular wireless models from well-known audio brands that are currently sold in Australia, dropped any the maker lists as discontinued, and left out others for the reasons given under Also considered.
  2. We collected the maker's own figures for connectivity, battery life, charging, drivers, noise cancelling, microphones and weight, what comes in the box, and the price on each maker's Australian store. Where a maker does not publish a figure, we say "not listed" instead of guessing.
  3. We ranked them on four criteria: battery and charging, noise control and calls, comfort and portability, and value for money. Each overall editorial grade is the average of its four criterion grades. A cheaper pair can rank above a pricier one when the extra money buys little on paper.
  4. We wrote down who each pair suits and who should skip it, and named the pick on this list that covers each weakness.

What we did not do: we did not lab-test, measure or listen to these headphones for this article, and we give no hands-on verdicts on sound or comfort. The photos illustrate each product and are not test records. Grades, ratings and score bars are our editorial opinion of the published specs.

Why you can still use this page: every figure comes from the maker's own product page, and for OneOdio from our store listing (see Sources), and it is labelled "listed" or "rated" so you know it is the maker's claim. Review & Rated is owned by the company that sells our #1 pick; that is why it appears first and why the buttons on this page link to it.

We own the company that sells the OneOdio.

How long does delivery to Australia take for the OneOdio A Series?

The Cosari Australia store (cosari-aus.com) lists order processing in 0 to 1 working days and free standard postage in 2 to 9 working days, so 2 to 10 working days in total. It sends a tracking link within 24 hours and lists DHL, UPS and FedEx as carriers.

What is the returns policy on Australian orders?

The Cosari store's refund policy lists 30-day returns, started by emailing contact@cosarit.com, but says it cannot accept returns on sale items, and the OneOdio A Series is currently discounted (A$219, was A$292). Where a change-of-mind return is accepted, the policy deducts a US$14.00 restocking fee from the refund. None of this limits the Australian Consumer Law: if a product is faulty you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, and a restocking fee cannot be charged on a refund for a major failure.

Which wireless headphones have the longest battery life?

With noise cancelling on, the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless lists up to 60 hours, then the soundcore Space One (40 hours), the OneOdio A Series (35 hours), the Sony WH-1000XM6 and Bose QuietComfort Ultra (2nd Gen) (30 hours each) and the AirPods Max 2 (20 hours).

Do all of these headphones have active noise cancelling?

Yes. All six list active noise cancelling and a transparency or aware mode. They differ in what the maker lists behind it: Sony lists 12 microphones and its QN3 processor, Sennheiser lists hybrid adaptive ANC, OneOdio lists hybrid ANC, soundcore lists adaptive ANC, Bose lists adjustable ANC with four modes, and Apple lists ANC with Adaptive Audio.

Can I plug these headphones into in-flight entertainment?

Many seat-back entertainment systems use a 3.5 mm headphone socket, sometimes with a two-pin adapter. The OneOdio A Series includes a 3.5 mm cable and keeps playing wired when the battery is flat; Sennheiser includes a 1.2 m audio cable and an airplane adapter; Sony includes a headphone cable; Bose includes a 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm cable; soundcore lists an AUX cable. AirPods Max 2 plays wired over USB-C, and Apple's box lists only a USB-C charge cable, so a 3.5 mm socket needs a separate cable.

Which headphones connect to two devices at once?

Multipoint is listed on the product pages for the OneOdio A Series, the Sony WH-1000XM6 and the soundcore Space One. Bose, Sennheiser and Apple do not list multipoint on the product pages we checked; Apple lists Automatic Switching between Apple devices instead.

How much should I spend on wireless headphones in Australia?

The six picks here range from A$169.99 (soundcore Space One) to A$999.00 (AirPods Max 2) on the makers' Australian stores. Around A$220 buys hybrid ANC, multipoint and a wired mode in the OneOdio A Series. The Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 was on sale at A$259.00 (RRP A$579.00) when we checked, and the Sony, Bose and Apple pairs at A$579.95 to A$999.00 add things like more microphones, spatial audio modes or listening presets.

Why is the OneOdio A Series ranked first when you sell it?

We own the company that sells it, and that affects the order on this page. We say so at the top and in the footer. We ranked it first as the best-value all-rounder: on published specs it combines hybrid ANC, multipoint, a long battery and a wired mode at a fraction of the premium prices. Every figure comes from the maker pages listed under Sources, so you can check it yourself.
