Use the clear disc if you have pebble-grain leather!

Quick tip: read the instructions if your dashboard has deep pebble-grain texture! A dry vacuum cup obviously can't seal over porous ridges on its own. Once I put down the little clear foundation pad first and twisted the vacuum dial onto that, you could practically pull the whole car by this mount. Yes. MagSafe iPhones (12 through 16) attach directly. For Android phones or non-MagSafe cases, stick one of the two included ultra-thin metal rings on the back of the phone or case. In our test, a Galaxy S24 Ultra in an OtterBox held as firmly as the iPhone.

Will it hold on a textured or leather dashboard?

Not directly. A dry vacuum needs a smooth surface. Press one of the included 65mm clear foundation discs onto the dash first, then lock the mount onto the disc. On glass, gloss trim, or the back of a floating screen, no disc is needed.

Do the magnets interfere with GPS, cell signal, or cards?

We saw no change in GPS accuracy or signal strength during three weeks of navigation. The magnet array is shielded to focus its pull toward the ring face. As with any strong magnet, keep hotel key cards and credit cards away from the head.
